Help! Men wearing slips!
Hi all,
I am in the middle of writing an article about men buying and wearing slips, and the end result hopefully will contain useful help and advice about things like getting the size right, things to look out for, etc. Although much more than half of my slip buyers are men and I've been selling slips for 14 years now, I am still at a slight loss as to some of the problems men might encounter when looking for the right slip. From the emails I get, a lot of issues seem to centre around two things - availability and sizing. So, if anyone wants to whizz a quick reply over to me with their thoughts on any issues they might have, or had, buying slips I'd be grateful. Or, just your thoughts generally. Thanks in advance

Hi Emma, i have had a quick look at your article and i can tell you it is spot on, i buy my slips by bust size mainly, but I have become so experienced in buying them and in my own body size that just holding them up i can tell if it fits. Some people on Ebay show pics with a tape measure across the bust /chest this is very helpful to me, i have purchased many in charity shops over the years, they are now very rarely found I find, but one bit of advice I would give is never just go off the labels, as i have found slips that were clearly mislabelled in size, probably why they were in there, you just never know. If there are any questions you would like to ask me Emma i would be only to happy to answer them to the best of my experience. Phil

Thank you Phil! Yes, definitely going by bust size in inches is by far the best method, I think. That is why I give the bust measurement in inches in the description of every slip I list in my shop. Labels certainly cannot be trusted, that's for sure - especially vintage ones. I produced a Vintage Slip Size Guide which gets looked at a lot: https://nylonnostalgia.com/vintage-slip-size-guide
Lovely to hear from you Phil!
