Call The Midwife

There have been a number of quick glimpses of slip in the latest series. The midwives' uniform is button through, the gap below the last button gapes when they walk or ride their bicycles. Nurse Dyer, Jennifer Kirby, seems to show most frequently.

This year's Christmas special had 2 scenes with Helen George in a black fullslip and 2 with Jennifer Kirby dressed as an angel, a short white dress with a slip underneath to protect her modesty.

Season 5 Episode 3 had a story line about a teacher with an unwanted pregnancy; she is seen pondering taking matters into her own hands, wearing a white fullslip.

In last Sunday's episode, S8 E5, there were two main storylines. The smaller of the two was about a slightly older woman expecting; she was examined in her home, laying back on the sofa. Her dress was pulled right up exposing the whole of her enlarged belly. To protect her modesty her flimsy white half-slip, with accordion pleats at the hem, was still in place.

In the other plot a young girl very soon to be married was in her bedroom kissing her fiancé. He tried to put his hand up her skirt which brought some orange silky material into view. In a subsequent scene the girl (Holly Freeman), alone in her bedroom took her dress off. She was wearing an orange fullslip with lace at the bodice and accordion pleats at the hem.

An earlier episode, possibly 8:3, began with showing the midwives in their various early morning routines. Nurse Dyer, (Jennifer Kirby), was stood in her bedroom in an off-white fullslip spraying her hair; unfortunately the hem wasn't in shot.

In this week's episode a young mother (Hannah Rae) had to undress for examination, she was wearing a pale yellow fullslip with lace at the bodice, we didn't see the hem.

S8 E8 The last in the series broadcast in March
The episode opens with Nurse Dyer, (Jennifer Kirby), having taken her uniform off to scrub it at the kitchen sink. She is wearing a beige fullslip to below the knee a little lace at hem and bust. The scene lasts about 46 seconds.
About 20 minutes in Nurse Franklin (Helen George) and Nurse Anderson (Leonie Elliott) are trying on dresses. Helen George is briefly seen in a plain black fullslip, Leonie Elliott is wearing a brown fullslip with a little lace at the bust. We don't see either hem. The girls are disturbed by the arrival of Nurse Anderson's boyfriend and try to cover up their modesty. Lasts about 17 seconds.
At the end there is a ball. All 3 nurses are glammed up standing at the top of some stairs in their posh frocks, Nurse Anderson has green frothy petticoat peeking below the hem of her dress, more shows as she walks down the stairs.
